My pick for the best dentist websites

How many dentist websites are there out there? I am not sure; a lot, I would say. Not many of the dentist websites that I have seen are anything beyond the name, address and a map link to their office. I can get that information from any search engine or online directory; I would like to see more facts about the dentist and hygienists that work for them on dentist websites. It would really make picking a doctor much easier, because I already know that they know teeth. And it really is not about finding their location. I also would love it if they had a Q and A section, possibly a tool for some self diagnosis of tooth problems. Medical sites have some articles about tooth disorders, but it is mixed in with medical disorders and can be hard to discern from just the dental stuff. I would find dentist websites either dedicated to or offering section on tooth disorders very, very helpful.

If I have a sore tooth, do I have to immediately call my dentist, or could it just be from grinding at night or biting down on it the wrong way? These are things that it would be helpful to know. Dentist websites could offer diagnosis flow charts that could lead me to either wait out the problem, or seek immediate care. Also, I would like to see dentist websites that recommend specific care procedures or products that a particular dentist likes to use. And pictures of the staff would be nice to have, too. Mainly, I mostly concerned with finding a dentist using the dentist websites available to me as a shopping yardstick, comparing them to one another. I think that the dentist websites with the most professional and informational design will probably win my business.
