I was amazed at the notion that people will behave better if they think that they are being watched. I read an article in the newspaper that showed the results of a local study. A group of people had Fake Security Cameras installed in a parking ramp that has had problems lately. Some of the cars had been broken into and other cars had key scratches on the doors and hoods. As soon as the cameras were installed, the group of people who were causing the trouble left the public parking ramp and never returned. Fake or real does not matter as long as it works.
