Unemployment in the US

4:30 am News

Because the past couple years have had very high unemployment rates across the country, the issue of immigration into the United States, especially illegal immigration, has been brought once again to the forefront of the political landscape.  On the one hand, with so many people out of work, immigration reform advocates (like the Federation for American Immigration Reform) can’t understand why enforcement of keeping illegals out of the workplace has been cut in half.On the other hand, the department of homeland security says that the data they are pulling conclusions from is not current and that the Obama administration is actually getting the results it was looking for.

Immigration is definitely a tough issue to tackle with such strong feelings on both sides of the issue, but some sort of law or reform is going to need to take place in order to help the current situation – whether that means tightening or loosening the laws.
