My daughter is ten years old and in the advanced classes at school.  She brings home a lot of extra work and needs to do most of it on the computer.  Since I use the computer for work that I do at home it has started to become a scheduling conflict.  We decided to buy her a computer of her won so that she could sit with me to do her homework while I worked.  She saw a cute pink laptop that she really liked and we got that for her.  Now we sit together and work in the afternoons and there are no conflicts.
