I Knew Something Was Wrong
January 27, 2010 2:56 pm TravelWhen I received the call at the airport, I knew instinctively that something was seriously wrong. All of my friends and family knew that I was trying to get ready to get on an airplane, and they wouldn’t have called if it weren’t an emergency. So it was with much trepidation that I answered the phone, and when I did my worst fears were confirmed. My one-year-old daughter was in the hospital. Of course, I immediately cancelled my trip and rushed home. Thankfully, even though my tickets were non-refundable, I wasn’t out the money. I had travel insurance, and it reimbursed me for the cost.
